| INGREDIENTS (makes 1 pie) 3 eggs, beaten 1 cup dark corn syrup 1 cup sugar 2 Tbsp butter 1 tsp vanilla extract 1½ cups pecans 1 unbaked pastry shell |
| PROCEDURE (1) Preheat oven to 375º F. (2) Blend eggs, corn syrup, sugar, butter, and vanilla together. (3) Add pecans. (4) Bake at 375º F for 10 minutes, then lower the temperature to 350º F and bake for another 45 minutes or so (until a knife inserted halfway between the edge and the center comes out clean. (5) Remove and let cool. |
| NOTES If you use pecan halves it will look nicer than pecan pieces, but be more difficult to cut. |
