Soft shortbread

          INGREDIENTS (serves 4–6)
1 cup     soft butter
1 cup     flour
½ cup     corn starch
½ cup     icing sugar
1 tsp     vanilla
PROCEDURE

(1)     Preheat oven to 325º F.
(2)     Beat butter and vanilla until foamy.
(3)     Add dry ingredients and blend. Do not overstir.
(4)     Spoon onto an ungreased pan.
(5)     Bake at 325º F until done (10–20 minutes depending on thickness)
